At Millikin University, curricular and co-curricular service learning extends the learning environment beyond the campus and into the community. Participants actively engage in service, addressing both their learning goals as well as genuine community needs.

The service learning process involves reflecting and thinking critically about how the experiences connect to knowledge from course work, to emerging skills, and diverse values. Learning is intentional and formalized through goals and assessment mechanisms.
