2008 Celebrations of Scholarship

Students display their academic work in the College of Arts & Sciences

Students showed off their academic achievements in the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) during Millikin’s 2008 Celebrations of Scholarship.

During this day-long event, students from every department in CAS and the University’s Honors Program presented their research for the Millikin community. English students read their creative writings, History and Philosophy students presented their thesis topics, and students in natural and behavioral sciences showcased their research during the 15th annual Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium.

The Humanities Undergraduate Research Forum (HURF) also hosted presentations of work done by students studying History, English, Religion, Philosophy and Modern Languages. Freshman Honors Scholars and upperclassmen James Millikin Scholars presented their work as well. Many of these students have been working on and preparing their projects for one or two years.

The day also featured guest speakers in Chemistry and Physics and students working for Bronze Man Books showcased their publications.
