This past Friday evening the main hall of Westminster Church was filled with Latin music and rhythms from Millikin’s Latin Jazz Project.  Percussion studies at Millikin University are designed to develop the whole musician--artistically, intellectually, technically--through the integration of theory and practice. Our goal is to develop the highest possible level of musicianship and an appropriate proficiency in performance, teaching, and technology. As part of this development the group traveled to Havana, Cuba and worked with Dr. Jose Eladio Emat, Master Percussionist.   It is our hope at the CIE that Dr. Emat will be at Millikin at the end of October to perform with these talented and promising musicians!
