Music Alive: School of Music Preparatory Department Camp

This summer the Preparatory Department will offer three music camps during the first two weeks of June. For students entering grades 6-9, this year we’re adding “Music Alive”, for young musicians to develop their creativity through composition, improvisation, and more advanced music software.

Illinois Association of Student Councils is an intensive leadership training institute for high school students involved with their student councils. Approximately 50 students gather for this experience that focuses on leadership development, team building, and organizational management.

Upward Bound

Upward Bound is a college preperatory camp for high school students from underprivelaged areas. Students involved in this camp learn how to persist in a rigorous academic environment through interaction with college faculty and other educators during a highly structured week of programs. Participation in this event is by invitation only.

Red Cross Emergency Services Institute

The Red Cross Emergency Services Institute is a 4 day adult conference for staff and volunteers of the American Red Cross. This session, sponsored by the Mid-Illinois Chapter of the Red Cross, brings together approximately 250 individuals who are passionate about helping others who are in crisis through being victims of disaster, accidents, and other unfortunate circumstances.

Kreps Camp July 12-13

This non-residential camp is held in the Griswold Athletic Center June 7^th-8^th and July 12^th-13^th. Day campers are boys and girls that range in grade from 3^rd to 11^th grade. This camp is in association with the American Youth Basketball Tour, which is “a summer, grade-based, youth basketball organization.”
