The Long-Vanderburg (LV) Program recognizes high scholastic achievement among those students who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, leadership, and community service.
The LV program honors the first two African-American graduates of Millikin University, Fred Long and Marian Vanderburg. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years so long as the student maintains a 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA and actively participates in the program.
LV Scholars Program benefits:
• $2,000 annual scholarship totaling $8,000 over four years
• Leadership opportunities in local community service initiatives
• Service in the LV Living-Learning Community
Your Next Steps
Qualify for the LV Scholars Program
• Display exemplary academic achievement that includes: minimum composite ACT
score of at least 23 or SAT score of 1070 (combined math/verbal) and cumulative
high school grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
• Evidence of leadership, commitment to diversity, and community service
participation in high school and/or local community organizations
• Membership in any historically underrepresented group or a demonstrated
commitment to the advancement of these groups
