Commencement Introduction

Welcome and thank you for using Millikin University's Spring 2009 Commencement website.

Throughout this site is information to use during your Commencement planning. Commencement and activities surrounding the ceremony are coordinated by the Office of Academic Affairs. Many of the questions you may have should be directed towards Jacque Wrigley at the Office of Academic Affairs at 217-424-6220, or email at jwrigley@millikin.edu

For PACE/MBA:

Commencement Ceremony will be held in the Kirkland Fine Arts Center on Saturday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. Doors to the theatre will open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are required for admission but they do not reserve a particular seat (limit of 15 tickets per graduate). ALL guests must have a ticket, including children and babies.  We ask that you not bring balloons, air horns, beach balls and other disruptive devices into the auditorium.  Please remember that this is a formal occasion, and disturbances make it difficult for others to hear and enjoy.  We anticipate behavior appropriate to a solemn, yet celebratory occasion.   Ticketed guests who plan to videotape the ceremony will be directed to a standing area at the back of the theatre.  There are no electrical outlets, battery packs for cameras are a must.

For TRADITIONAL STUDENTS:

ALL guests must have a ticket, including children and babies.  We ask that you not bring balloons, air horns, beach balls and other disruptive devices into the arena.  Please remember that this is a formal occasion, and disturbances make it difficult for others to hear and enjoy.  We anticipate behavior appropriate to a solemn, yet celebratory occasion.   Ticketed guests who plan to videotape the ceremony will be directed to a standing area above the bleachers on the north side of the arena. There are no electrical outlets, battery packs for cameras are a must.
