In BriefMMA sponsors campus-wide "Food Fight"The Millikin Marketing Association (MMA) is carrying out its fourth consecutive annual Food Fight, a competitive food drive which began on Thursday, March 31 and will end on Friday, April 8. MMA is hoping to collect 12,000 non-perishable goods this year, all of which will be donated to the Decatur Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and The Northeast Community Fund. According to the MMA press release, prizes will be awarded throughout the week to competing groups, which have been formed “based on housing, Greek affiliation and faculty and staff departments.” Greek WeekGreek Week begins Sunday, April 10, and will last until Saturday, April 16. The week will boast a variety of events, including athletics tournaments, a talent show on Tuesday in Kirkand Fine Arts Center (KFAC) and an all-Greek toga dance on Friday. Chapter 6 returns to MillikinOn Monday, April 11, the award-winning a cappella group Chapter 6 will perform at 8 p.m. in KFAC. These six musicians are all former Millikin students. The group is quickly becoming widely known and acclaimed in the music industry, winning various prestigious titles. Chapter 6 is not only the youngest group to ever win the Chicago Harmony Sweepstakes, but has gone on to keep the title for three consecutive years, beginning in 2000. Tickets are $15, and can be obtained at the Kirkland box office. Bowling for Kids' SakeOn April 19, various student organizations, brought together by juniors Beth Bauer and Cory Gumm, will sponsor Bowling for Kids’ Sake, a fundraiser for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. It will be held at 9:45 p.m. at Sparetime Lanes. Each organization put together teams of six students, and each team must raise $300. The event features bowling, shirts, pizza, door prizes and transportation, all of which are free. There will also be drink specials.
