Welcome to the Millikin University, Indian Popular Cinema website. This website is a knowledge base for Hindi films in particular and the Indian culture, as a whole. It provides information regarding, but is not limited to the different cultures, customs, communities, class, costumes, cuisines, religions, languages, arts, and architecture of the largest democracy in the world, India. This website proposes to introduce the curious to this country that is only 60 years old, but a culture that is 5000 years in age. This website not only showcases India, but also provides a comprehensive list of all the major films that, through the ages, have represented it’s history, culture, politics, and people to the world. This site also serves as an academic repository for student analytical, argumentative, and research projects (from Spring 2008 course, Introduction to Indian Popular Cinema) written on the films produced by the biggest Cinema industry in the world, Bollywood.
