Macy
House
So,
you want to study abroad in London and need a place
to stay. Well, I have just the place for you--Macy House.
Macy House is located at 643 Fulham Road in Zone 2 of
London. It is a quaint little hostel in the heart of
the Fulham area. The Fulham area itself is a very nice
neighborhood. There are no really dodgy-looking places.
Even at night, the streets are all well lit, and I have
never once felt unsafe walking back to Macy House.
If
youre thinking Fulham must be so nice because
there is nothing there, you could not be more wrong.
Fulham is always bustling with activity. There are tons
of little shops from shoe stores to electronic stores
to general stores. If you need anything in Fulham, there
is a place you can buy it. Fulham has several grocery
stores, but it also has several outdoor market vendors.
These vendors sell all kinds of fruits, vegetables,
cheeses and fresh meats for extremely reasonable prices.
There is also a farmers market in the local churchyard
on Sundays from 11:00 to 4:00. Besides the grocery stores
and markets, Fulham is also home to a large number and
variety of restaurants. If you are hungry for it, you
can find it here--everything from quaint cafes to Starbucks,
from burgers to fish and chips, from Chinese to Thai,
from fancy cyber cafes to pubs and even fast food chains.
Macy
House itself is not too far from two very nice little
parks--Parsons Green and Eel Brook Common. It
is also not far from the Underground station. So you
can get into the city to see the Tower of London, Big
Ben and the London Bridge. As I said before, Macy House
is a quaint little place. It offers three different
types of rooms--triples, doubles and singles. All the
rooms are clean and equipped with a desk, cupboard,
shelf, sink, small refrigerator, armoire and bed. The
guests are supplied with one towel, a pillow, sheet
and down comforter. Every Monday is Linen Day and you
can exchange all of the items mentioned above for new
ones. Macy House also offers a large fully functional
kitchen, dining area, television room and garden. Unfortunately,
there are no laundry facilities at Macy House, but there
is a laundry mat just a hop, skip and a jump away.
While
Macy House has a welcoming air all its own, what really
makes Macy House the cozy, welcoming place it is, is
the manager--Goran. With his happy, energetic mood and
warm and welcoming smile, you cannot help but feel warm
and fuzzy inside. Goran is more than happy to help his
quests out in any way he can. He knows where everything
in the area is and can give you easy-to-follow directions.
He is also very quick to fix any problems that may arise.
If something breaks in your room, it is fixed before
you know it.
So,
if you are going to be studying or just visiting London,
stay at Macy House. For anything from food to fun you
will be in the heart of it all.
