Father Nicholas W. Smith Book Award

The inaugural Father Nicholas W. Smith Book Award was bestowed on April 12, 2007 to sophomore Fitness and Sport major Jordan Bowman of Greenfield, IL. The $500 annual award is for students whose major is within the Department of Exercise Science and Sport and who possess, at a minimum, a 3.0/4.0 grade point average. The award is to be used for the purchase of required academic textbooks.
 
Father Nicholas W. Smith, ’83, of St. Louis, MO, established the award to honor academic achievement of those within the department. Beginning in the 2007-2008 academic year, the award will be granted at the annual spring Honors Convocation.
