As a professional artist who has been based out of New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, D.C., Alex Miller’s professional acting credits include, Antonio in The Merchant of Venice (Texas Shakespeare Festival), Duke Senior in As You Like It (Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey - tour), Antonio in The Tempest (Arkansas Repertory Theatre), Bernard in Arcadia (The Rep Stage), and the King of France in Henry V (Heart of America Shakespeare Festival). As a director, his credits include Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean; Brighton Beach Memoirs; A Midsummer Night’s Dream; and Lie of the Mind.
As a recognized Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors, Alex has directed the violence in Romeo and Juliet, My Favorite Year, Six Characters in Search of an Author, and Sweet Smell of Success. Inspired by the “Shakespeare Behind Bars” program in LaGrange, KY, he recently began a Shakespeare program at the Decatur Correctional Center using the works of the Bard to enhance the lives of local inmates.
