Concert Band Concert

4:00 p.m. 

Miller Quad

The Millikin University Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Sharon Huff, will present an outdoor band concert on the Dr. J. Roger Miller Quad at 4 p.m. The University Concert Band includes music majors, minors and non majors at Millikin and performs on campus at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center along with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Last year the University Concert Band performed on the Miller Quad for the dedication ceremony honoring Dr. J. Roger Miller, President of Millikin University.


Choral Concertino

Four Millikin choirs will present a short program of choral music.

Fall Family Weekend Drive-in Movie

8:00pm
Miller Quad

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets! Enjoy the movie on a 36’ outdoor movie screen. Free admission, popcorn, and soda provided by the University Center Board and Fall Family Weekend Committee.

Parents Association Meeting

Refreshments will be served at 9:00am followed by a Parents Association Meeting.  All parents are welcomed to attend to find out ways to be involved at Millikin and how to continue to support their students.

 

Family Photographs 
10:00am-1:00pm

Arrival Court, Millikin University Campus

Have your picture taken on Millikin’s beautiful campus. Miller’s Studio of Photography will be on campus to take group/family photographs. There is no sitting fee. Pictures will be available online to purchase.

 

16th Annual Oakwood Street Festival
10:00am-1:00pm

Arrival Court

This year’s festival includes a marketplace with games and information sponsored by Millikin’s student organizations, as well as, numerous entertainment activities.  You can also catch Mike Da Roving Guy and his balloon art, along with Body Art by Margaret, among the many booths at the festival.

 

The festival will also feature musical entertainment by Millikin student groups. The headline performer will be Lynn Trefzger, a comedian ventriloquist.  Lynn’s vocal illusions and comedy is amusing, humor-packed entertainment that ensures a time full of fun and amazement.  You will not want to miss her!

 

Lunch: Alumni Association Fundraiser
11:00am-1:00pm

Arrival Court

Stop by the Millikin Alumni Association booth for a quick lunch! All proceeds go to support an alumni relations award presented to an outstanding graduating senior.

 

 

Society of Physics Students- Sky & Star Observation

8:30-10:30pm in Requarth’s Observatory and Observation Deck

 Experience the night sky like never before with the Society of Physics Students. A great family-friendly event that will entertain people of all ages. *Weather pending*

 

Family Casino Night 
9:00-11:00pm

Wornick Dining Hall – Richards Treat University Center

Bring the whole family and enjoy an evening of fun casino games.  This event is co-sponsored with the Oakwood Business Association and there will be a chance to receive some great prizes that will be raffled off. It is free to everyone! The Fall Family Weekend committee will provide refreshments. No tickets required.

Center for Multicultural Student Affairs Student Brunch

East Room - Richards Treat University Center

Family and friends are invited to attend an open brunch for underrepresented students.  The brunch will be an opportunity for underrepresented students along with their families and friends to fellowship with each other and current faculty and staff.
