Exit Counseling for Your Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan
In accordance with Federal regulations, when a student ceases enrollment at least half-time or graduates, the institution is required to provide Direct Loan Exit Counseling. The Exit Counseling information will explain to you your repayment obligations, provide you with a sample budget calculation and provide an opportunity to update your contact information.
To obtain details of your loans, you can access the National Student Loan Database (NSLDS) at www.nslds.ed.gov; your FAFSA PIN number is required. If you do not have your PIN number, you can go online at www.pin.ed.gov and request a duplicate PIN number. Information on NSLDS is updated by lenders and guarantee agencies, so it will only be as current as their latest transmission of records to the database. We encourage all students to work with their lenders and keep copies of all correspondence.
