Millikin University’s Employee Recognition Committee has selected Craig Janssen as Employee of the Month for October 2010. Craig has served the University as the Network and Internet Services Manager since August 1, 2001.

The Committee received compelling nominations from Craig’s colleagues, including the following comments:

“Craig is an invaluable employee in the IT Department. He stays late, comes in during emergencies, and works tirelessly to make sure our students and employees have the best technology possible. He stays up working till 2am on at least one night each month so that the University is not inconvenienced during business hours and is protected against viruses and making sure our servers are patched and protected from intrusions. He has an excellent attitude and work ethic. Millikin is lucky to have such a dedicated employee.”

“Craig has been instrumental in bringing our new SunRay thin client labs in Scovill and Tabor Lab online this summer and fall. He not only invested countless hours in working through issues, but also took it upon himself to learn the intricacies of the system. Craig managed to dedicate his full attention to this project while deploying new wireless access points all across campus. His energy and passion for serving students' technology needs on campus is visibly apparent through these projects. Craig has been and continues to be a valued member of the IT team.”

“Craig Janssen has been instrumental in updating the Millikin technology infrastructure with wireless and upgrades to the network. He is tireless in his work to deliver the best service to our Millikin community. He stays late and does upgrades in the middle of the night and comes in on weekends to help with problems that arise with security access, wireless, dining services and many other technology based systems. Craig is the epitome of the ideal employee. He accepts change eagerly and stays on top of all cutting edge technology to make sure that Millikin is positioned to take advantage of the latest and greatest.”
