London is, along with the Dominican Republic, by far the most popular destination for Millikin students going abroad:  over one third of Millikin students studying abroad since Spring 1997 have gone to London, both for a full semester and  for immersion (including summer) brief courses.

London Fall semester 2005: 17 students and two Millikin faculty spent three months studying Shakespeare and other theatre, as well as comparative culture and communications.

Huron USA: During semesters when Millikin does not offer its own semester program in London, Huron University is the option for Millikin students wishing to study in London. Three Millikin students were in London with Huron USA during the Spring semester 2004, and five are signed up to go during the Spring semester 2005.

BritRail covers the trains that run all over Britian, Wales and Scotland. You can purchase passes for days of travel, which means you can travel wherever you want during a range of 24 hour periods; and the Flexipass is good for 4, 8, or 12 days over 2 months. Trips such as to to Bath, Oxford, Dover, Edinburgh and York are covered on the pass.

The youth (under 26 years of age) Flexipass is about $290 for 8 days of travel and includes Gatwick and Heathrow expresses; so you could use it to get from the airport when you arrive in London. (Sample comparison: non-pass round trip youth ticket London to Edinburgh purchased separately was $247 in August 2005.) With the pass you also get a discount on tickets for the Eurostar (some as low as $90 roundtrip). BUT YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE THESE PASSES IN THE U.S., they are not available in Britain.
