Regardless of citizenship, applicants whose first language is not English must generally take one of the following exams and achieve the indicated scores in order to demonstrate English proficiency.

Conditional Admission and the English Language Center
The Millikin University English Language Center (ELC) was designed for students whose English language skills need improvement. It is a 4-level transition program that prepares international students for programs at Millikin University. All ELC students have been conditionally admitted to Millikin.
Placement & Levels
Students take the ELC Placement Test when they arrive to determine their level:
Level 1: Foundations
Level 2: Intermediate 1
Level 3: Intermediate 2
Level 4: Millikin Bridge *Students at this level begin earning Millikin degree credits and take ELC classes
