Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the support of technology use in the Tabor
Business and Technology Center (ADM/Scovill), including multimedia rooms and
their equipment, teaching labs, faculty offices, open area technology, video
conferencing, printing, and functions associated with the use of technology
and communications. This position is responsible for the maintenance of the
email system, post offices, spam filtering, and creation of student and employee
accounts in the Novell system and Blackboard system. This position also assists
IT personnel in other functional areas listed.

- Plan for purchases of server hardware
- Performs Network Administration with support for:
- Groupwise Email System
- Monitors and maintains all post offices for email
- GWAVA Spam Filtering
- Creation/ Deletion of Accounts
- Changing Passwords
- Changing Rights
- Set up of printing and managing IPRINT
- Maintaining Netware servers and software upgrades
- Install and maintain applications software on Netware servers
- Monitors server logs
- Performs DSREPAIR and purges on servers
- Creates and maintains all Netware accounts
- Maintains the login scripts
- Maintains all running NLMs
- Installs Netware patches to servers
- Maintains batch files on all servers
- Maintain Zenworks and workstation objects in directory services
- Research and test new applications for the network
- Works with faculty on the adoption of new educational software and its
installation on the network
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Attend conferences, workshops,
seminars etc. as required by the supervisor

- Perform server checks on Netware servers using RConsole
- Create and modify user Netware and GroupWise accounts and rights using
ConsoleOne
- Occasionally help build Compaq servers based on Windows NT / Novell NetWare

and email problems with student computers after office hours
