General Voice Mail Information
Mailbox
Your electronic mailbox receives your calls and stores your messages, and also stores your password and recorded greetings. When you log in to Call Pilot you are accessing your mailbox so that you can use the features described in this guide. Your mailbox is your 4 Digit extension phone number.
Prompts
Call Pilot guides you with audible prompts at each step. The prompts tell you what options are available, so that you don't have to remember every step. You can interrupt a prompt by pressing the key for the next step.
Password
Your personally assigned password, which is 6 Digits long, provides security for your mailbox and its contents. All your interaction with Call Pilot is private and confidential; no one else has access to your mailbox.
Access Numbers
You activate a Call Pilot feature by dialing its access number, which is 362-6490 (6490 from on campus).
Message Waiting Indication
Call Pilot has message waiting indication (MWI) that notifies you when you receive a new message. The message waiting indicator on our phone lights up or flashes, or you hear a stutter dial tone when you pick up the handset.

Logging In (Accessing Your Mailbox)
Press the Message/Voice mail key or dial the Call Pilot access number, 362-6490 (6490 from on campus).
From your own phone, press # key or from any other phone, enter your mailbox number, followed by # key.
Enter your password, then press # key.
Playing your Messages:
Your phone may have a message-waiting indicator which lights or flashes to indicate new messages, or you may hear a stutter dial tone when you pick up the handset.
Log in.
Press 2 to play the message, after hearing the first message announcement.
Press 1 to skip back 5 seconds.
Press 3 to skip forward 5 seconds.
Press # to pause; Press 2 to continue.
Press 6 to go to next message.
Press 4 to go to previous message.
Press 76 to delete a message while playing it or its announcement.

Recording your Personal Greeting:
Callers from outside Millikin hear your external greeting; callers within Millikin hear your internal greeting. If you do not record an external greeting, your callers hear the standard system greeting. If you do not record an internal greeting, your internal callers hear your external greeting.
Log in.
Press 82 for greeting.
Press 1 for external greeting, or 2 for internal greeting.
Press 5 to record.
Press # key to stop recording.
Press 2 to play the greeting.
Press 83 to log off or 4 to return to messages.

Recording your Personal Verification:
Personal verification is a recording you make of you own name and other information such as your title or extension number.
Log in.
Press 89 for personal verification.
Press 5 to record.
Press # key to stop recording.
Press 83 to log off or 4 to return to messages.

Changing your Password:
For security reasons, you should change your password from the one you were first assigned. After that, your password will not expire.
Log in.
Press 84 for password change.
Enter your new password, followed by # key. New password should by 6 Digits.
Re-enter your new password, followed by # key.
Enter your old password, followed by # key.
Press 83 to log off, or 4 to return to messages.

Logging Off:
Press 83.
You will hear "good-bye".
Hang up.

Help:
You can get help at any time while using Call Pilot. The help is context-sensitive. This means that when you press the help key, you are told which commands are available for that feature.
Log in.
Press * for general help.
Press 7* for message command help.
Press 8* for mailbox command help.

Who can use Voice Mail?
Only Faculty, Staff, Administration, and Resident Assistants can use Voice Mail
How do I access Voice Mail while on campus?
From a multi-line phone, push the message button. From a single line phone, dial 6490.
Can I access my Voice Mail from home?
Yes. Simply dial 362-6490
I forgot my password..What do I do?
Information Technology can change your password during normal business hours; call 217-424-5066.
I thought I knew my password, but the system is not letting me in. What do I do?
If you miss type your password more than three times, the system will lock you out. You will have to call 424-5066 during normal hours to have the account 're-enabled'
