How do I upgrade Acrobat Reader?

 

In order to view faculty evaluations off of MUOnline, you need to have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The instructions on how to acquire this follow.

Mac OS X:
1. In Internet Explorer, go to http://www.acrobat.com
2. In the bottom right-hand corner, click on the link that says Get Adobe Reader.
3. Under the Platform dropdown box, select either Mac OS 10.2.2 - 10.3, or Mac OS 9.1 - 10.2.1, depending on your OS version
4. Under connection speed, select Broadband.
5. Click continue at the very bottom of the screen.
6. Click Download. This will download the file to your desktop.
7. Double-click on the icon on your desktop named AdbeRdr60_enu_full.dmg
8. Will say "Disk Copy Progress" for several minutes, then that will disappear, and a new window will open.
9. Open up your Mac Hard Drive (will probably be named like OS X, Jaguar, etc.)
10. Open the Applications folder.
11. Drag the Adobe Reader 6.0 folder into the Applications window.
12. Open the Adobe Reader 6.0 folder
13. Double-click on Adobe Reader 6.0 icon.
14. Accept the license.
15. When asked about the Internet Browser Helper Application, answer Yes.


Mac OS 9:
1. In Internet Explorer, go to http://www.acrobat.com
2. In the bottom right-hand corner, click on the link that says Get Adobe Reader.
3. Under the Platform dropdown box, select Mac OS 9.1 - 10.2.1
4. Under connection speed, select Broadband.
5. Click continue at the very bottom of the screen.
6. Click Download. This will download the file to your desktop.
7. When the download completes, double-click on rdrweb.sit on your desktop.
8. When asked, open it with Stuffit Expander.
9. This will put another file on your desktop; double-click on Acrobat Reader Installer.
10. Click Continue
11. Check Acrobat Reader 5.1 and Search, then click Continue
12. If prompted, click on the Quit Applications button.
13. Acrobat Reader will now begin to download and/or install.
14. After the software has finished installing, click on the Quit button.


Windows:
1. In Internet Explorer, go to http://www.acrobat.com
2. In the bottom right-hand corner, click on the link that says Get Adobe Reader.
3. Under the Platform dropdown box, select either Windows 98, 2000, or XP, depending on your OS version
4. Under connection speed, select Broadband.
5. Click continue at the very bottom of the screen.
6. Click Download. When prompted, click Open or Run. This will download and begin the installation process.
7. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the program.
8. When this has completed, double-click on the Adobe Reader 6.0 icon on your desktop, then accept the license when prompted.
