Responsibilities

Essential Team Leader Responsibilities:

Direct a project team in order to meet projected goals including directing systems implementation for users in order to place a system into operation
Attend regular designated departmental support meetings with groups and individuals to assist management and staff in determining and meeting the technology needs of the University
Assist in monitoring the direction and growth of business to ensure the application of appropriate technologies and support systems
Analyze user problems and operations then design application systems in order to develop functional requirements for a proposed system including cost and time estimates
Monitor and track application system development progress in order to provide and/or recommend the appropriate application of database resources and/or technology in order to meet development and support requirements
Participate in reviews and walk-throughs of feasibility reports, functional requirements, system designs, program specifications, coding, test plans, and results
Communicate regularly with internal technical, applications and operational staff, particularly as a liaison between the Database Administrator(s) and the application systems development team, as appropriate, in order to ensure the database integrity, security, and availability
Provide education, training, and awareness on the core functions and capabilities of the administrative system to team members and end users
Assist in the preparation of application systems project plans and schedules, relative to database-related design, development, implementation, and support
Coordinate testing activities for appropriate application systems development with Database Administrator(s), as required
Evaluate database management systems and related tool sets
Establish training and development goals, with budget considerations in mind, and conduct performance reviews and evaluation of team members in conjunction with the Director in order to ensure continued growth and sustained performance
Team member responsibilities:

Provide support, as part of the team, for modules of the administrative system(s)
Ensure reports and data requests are accurate and produced in a timely manner
Write and apply database objects to fulfill user requests
Perform design and development in response to requests for information
Identify and resolve data related problems
Consult with departmental data owners regularly to ensure data consistency and integrity
Consult with the end users regarding database issues
Provide information requested from internal/external customers
Assist in development and implementation of data and database related standards, procedures and guidelines
Document packages in order to minimize system problems and ensure quality control
