Essential Responsibilities:
• Works
in rotation with other Technical Support Specialists at the Help Desk
answering the Help Desk phone and providing outstanding support for walk
in customers
• Works in rotation with other Technical Support Specialists providing technical support for hardware and software
• Interviews, trains, and assists in supervision of student workers along with other technical staff
• Responsible for training student technicians
• Originates work orders in JIRA Work Order system
• Manages end user accounts in JIRA
• Coordinates and performs training in use of technology for incoming students, staff and faculty
• Provides training in basic network and selected software to all users
• Creates and updates technology documentation for prospective/new students and new faculty and staff
• Assists in updating and maintaining IT website
• Assists in procurement of campus-wide software for academics and administration
• Places orders for technology equipment with help and direction from IT staff and director
• Maintains inventory of IT equipment and software
• Responsible for completing daily work orders
• Responsible for delegating appropriate work orders to student technicians
• Responsible for the workstation support of all faculty, administrative, and student lab computers - hardware and software
• Responsible for the maintenance of general access lab computers
• Utilize the work order system to enter work orders for computer
hardware and software issues and prioritize and delegate work to student
technicians
• Responsible for all printing services, records, and installations
• Responsible for the maintenance of the e-mail stations
• Responsible for the maintenance of the MOCOMPS (Mobile Computers) and multimedia room computers- hardware and software
• Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the work room and its contents
• Responsible for assisting students with personally owned computers to ensure access to the Millikin Network
• Provides assistance to other areas of IT where appropriate and needed
• Responsible for troubleshooting and supporting data/phone
connections in campus buildings in conjunction with the Network Services
