Millikin University will welcome Irish music sensation Slide Ireland to the Kirkland Fine Arts Center on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Slide Ireland is a young, energetic band that has been producing electrifying sound and expertise in Irish traditional music since 1999. The five person multi-instrument band, with everything from wedding fiddles to mournful pipes, captures and develops the ever growing, living tradition of Irish music.
Slide Ireland has played with some of the most notable Celtic Bands in the world on main stages and at festivals in Ireland, England, Germany, France, and the United States. Slide Ireland was recognized by
The Irish Times as “traditional musicians with attitude,” and credits the group with “bringing drawing room grandeur and high spirits together” with its diverse songs.
