On Monday, October 19, Millikin University’s Professional Adult Comprehensive Education (PACE) program will host two informational sessions in Menard Hall on the Lincoln Land Community College campus from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. The sessions are open to adults interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree or educator certification in Early Childhood Education. The educator certification is available to persons who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in another field, and are considering a teaching career.

The sessions will provide individuals with the opportunity to speak with PACE staff and learn more about the program and requirements.  At the evening session, Millikin’s Registrar will be available to evaluate college transcripts for adults who may have previously attended other educational institutions.

“The bachelor's degree program is perfect for adults who are completing coursework at Lincoln Land Community College, or have previous college credit to transfer into the program," commented Karl Radnitzer, faculty coordinator for PACE off-site education programs. “All classes are offered on the Lincoln Land campus, making the program easily accessible for adults living in the Springfield area.”

Millikin’s PACE program is based on an accelerated class format that allows adults to attend class one evening per week.  Some classes may also be held on Saturdays.
Students take one course at a time for five weeks, and then move directly into the next course.

Programs offered on Millikin’s main campus include Accounting, Early Childhood Education, Elementary education, Nursing RN to BSN, and Organizational Leadership.  The adult degree program began in 2003.
