Millikin University will honor approximately 100 graduates at the 2012 Winter Commencement ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. in the Kirkland Fine Arts Center. Graduates from Millikin's traditional undergraduate program, evening degree completion program (PACE), and the Master of Science in Nursing program will be honored during the ceremony.

The honorable N. Duane Noland, former senator and representative emeritus trustee, will deliver the commencement address. Student speakers include Danica R. Henry of DeKalb, Ill., who will receive a Bachelor of Music degree in Commercial Music with a Theatre minor; and Katherine A. Price of Decatur, Ill., who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, which she earned through Millikin's PACE program.

The ceremony will feature musical performances by the Les Quatre String Quartet, directed by Professor Georgia Hornbacker, and the Millikin Chamber Chorale, directed by Dr. Guy Forbes.

Mr. Noland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the president and chief executive officer of the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives (AIEC) located in Springfield, Ill. He previously represented the citizens of central Illinois as a member of the Illinois General Assembly, serving two terms in the Senate and four terms in the Illinois House of Representatives.
