Attention Millikin students! Are you looking for success in the business world? Do you want to learn valuable lessons to benefit your future career?
Find answers to your questions about business and entrepreneurship on Tuesday, November 17 at 7 pm in Pilling Chapel when the Millikin Decatur Executive Association (MDEA) and Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) host Entrepreneur Derrick Hall, current CEO and President of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. In his presentation, Hall will present tips for success in today’s competitive market.
Hall learned the ropes of the sports industry while working for the Los Angeles Dodgers as a young executive in the 1990’s. During this time, he discovered the value of taking care of the team's fans and creating a positive work environment within the organization while striving to put a competitive team on the field each year. Now, as president and CEO of the Diamondbacks, Hall has made a name for himself within the sports industry with his exceptional communication skills, commitment to the team’s fans, and dedication to core values of the Diamondbacks organization.
“We’re honored to welcome Derrick Hall to campus,” remarked Dr. Susan Kruml, associate professor of business, and faculty advisor to DEX. “At Millikin, we pride ourselves in fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship within our students. I can think of no better way to accomplish this than to invite entrepreneurs like Hall to campus.”
