Welcome to the official page of the James Millikin Homestead
located in Decatur, Illinois. See our upcoming events.

The Millikin Homestead sits in regal splendor on a large lot at the corner of Pine and Main Streets in Decatur: an ornate mansion in the Italianate style with a French Second Empire roof.

Its delicate wrought iron traceries, colorful slate roof, many porches and arched windows are in stark contrast to the Frank Lloyd Wright- inspired homes of the Millikin Place that face it on the north.

From the beginning, the James Millikin Homestead has been one of the queens of residential architecture and decoration in Decatur.
