North Parlor

This room served as the company parlor. It has been furnished to approximate a typical Victorian parlor.

Noticeable in this room, as well as the south parlor across the hall, are the beautiful stenciled ceilings. They have been replicated by Chicago artisans from the Melvin Studio, working from scraps of canvas which had been stored for many years in the basement of the house.

Original to the house are the small settee and two matching chairs in the center of the room.

The light fixtures in the two parlors and the central hall are original to the house and were converted from gas to electricity in one of the early remodelings.
