Second Floor

T
he central hall has hardwood floors as opposed to the wide pine boards in the adjoining bedrooms.

None of the furniture on the second floor is original to the Millikins.

There are seven rooms on this floor, but only three are open, the rest forming the caretakers' apartment. The light fixture in the center hall is original.

The southeast bedroom

The southeast bedroom (see right) is furnished with eastlake-style accessories with painted blue trim.

The bed has auxiliary wheels because of its size and weight. The wood is birdseye maple. This room houses two small closets and a slate fireplace.

This room is thought to be the original master bedroom.

The northeast bedroom (no picture available)

The northeast bedroom is called the "Art Room" because Mrs. Millikin held her art classes for their literature, art, drama and painting in this room.

The southwest room (pictured above)

Due to its size and location, it is thought to have been a dressing room. Closets in this room are quite large. The pine floorboards have been marked and grained to simulate hardwood. This room also has a slate, wood burning fireplace.
