Day 42 (Sunday, August 7th)
Well today was the last day. Heather and I woke up at 9am and started getting ready and packing. Around 11, we walked to Donbie. First, I spent the rest of my iCash at 7eleven, and then we went to the bakery to get some things for lunch and dinner. Next we went to one tea shop to get Heather one last bubble milk tea, and then we went to Mr. Wish to get me one last passion fruit green tea. We came home, ate, and then I took a shower before our RA came by at 2:30 to check us out of our room. After the RA okayed our room, we went downstairs, handed in our keys and got our security deposits back! The rest of the night we have just been relaxing and finalizing our packing. Heather and I started watching the Johnny Depp movie ‘Blow’, but ch131.com wouldn’t let us finish it. Julie got home and made us try duck blood before we left, so we each ate a piece and it really wasn’t that bad. It just tasted like pot roast. The consistency was that of Jello, though.
I can hardly believe that this is it. This is the last day in Taiwan! We will be waking up at 4:45am to head to Taipei for the airport. I can’t wait to be home, but I am not looking forward to going through customs in Seattle, though. When Val went through customs in Minneapolis, they asked her really weird questions like, “Have you touched any cows lately?” This could be a small problem considering Heather and I fed cows and ostriches last Monday! Oh my goodness! Anyway, I’m heading to bed now, but I’ll post one final post after I get home. See ya later, Taiwan. Look out, America. I’m coming home!
