Associate Professor of Spanish
Dr. Cabrera got his Ph.D in Spanish with specialization in Latin American
Theatre at the University of California, Irvine. He started his college
education at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, where he studied Sociology
and Psychology. After moving to the United States, he got an AA degree
in Psychology at Los Angeles City College, and transferred to California
State University, Los Angeles, where he got a BA in Psychology and an MA in Latin American Literature.

Dr. Cabrera directed the acting studio Teatro Abierto in Hollywood, California,
for eight years; there he taught acting and directed more than 50 contemporary
plays.

After graduating from the University of California, Dr. Cabrera held a
visiting position at the University of Louisville, and a tenure position
at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Cabrera has published a number of articles about literature and theatre
in professional journals of Argentina, Chile, and the United States. His
professional experience includes working in a number of TV shows in California
and Texas.

Dr. Cabrera teaches courses in Latin American and Spanish Literature,
Culture and Theatre; Spanish for Business and Spanish language.
He has been invited to participate at the International Theatre Festival
in Arequipa, Perú, from October 27 to 31, 2004. He will integrate
a panel of theatre critics. A play co-written by Dr. Cabrera will be presented
at the festival, as well as a play directed by him.
