  • Welcome Back Event. A get-acquainted/reunion gathering for all multicultural students in the fall.

September

  • Hispanic Heritage Month: Special events focusing on the Hispanic/Latino culture
  • Food for Thought:  Weekly discussions focusing on Latino issues

October

  • Homecoming Alumni Roundtable and Barbecue
  • National Coming Out Day
  • Foo for Thought: Weekly discussions focusing on Religious/Faith Diversity
  • Salsa Night. Latin American music and lots of chips and salsa make for an evening of dancing and fun! Sponsored by the Latin American Student Organization.

November

  • Native American Heritage Month: Special events focusing on Native American history and culture
  • Food for Thought: Weekly discussions focusing on Native American culture and issues

December

  • Kwanzaa. A celebration of African American Heritage, including the Seven Principles and the Seven Symbols of Kwanzaa, including guest speakers and/or poetry, music and dance.

Spring Semester


January

  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Commemoration. The campus community is invited to honor Dr. King at a special program commemorating his life and work.

February

  • Black History Month. A month of special events celebrating the history and culture of African Americans. Programs might include special guest speakers, video/discussions, poetry/jazz nights, book discussions, comedy night, panel discussions, etc.
  • Food for Thought: Weekly discussions focusing on Black history and issues

March

  • Women's History Month. Special events might include panel discussions and guest speakers in a celebration of womanhood.
  • Food for Thought: Weekly discussions focusing on women's issues

April

  • Alpha Phi Alpha Founders Day Celebration. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity sponsors a week of events, including service projects, entertainment, and a formal dinner.
  • Food for Thought: Weekly discussions focusing on LGBT issues and Asian American issues

May

  • Fiesta de Cinco de Mayo. An observance of the Mexican-American holiday, celebrated with educational and social activities. Sponsored by Latin American Student Organization.
