The Millikin Children's Choir

Millikin School of Music Preparatory Department

For the JOY of Singing!

Program Description

The Millikin Children/Youth Choir program consists of 4 level choirs and is a curricular offering of the Preparatory Department in residence in the school of music at Millikin.  The program exists to provide developmentally appropriate comprehensive music education through the art of choral singing to the families and the community of central Illinois.  Sequential musical skill development as well as the rehearsal and performance of fine choral literature form the foundation of instruction.  Singers of MCC range in age from 5 to 18 years, with a current enrollment of 90 singers.  Membership is open to children of all races, ethnic backgrounds, economic levels, and religions.  Children simultaneously enrolled in Preparatory Department private lessons and multiple children from the same family receive program discounts.
