Millikin University offered me a very unique experience with the PACE
program. The PACE program offered me the opportunity to complete my
Bachelor's degree close to home on a schedule that was conducive to my
family. By attending classes one night per week, I was able to obtain my
Bachelor's in Education in a little under 2 years. The opportunity that
PACE provided for me allowed me to attend classes in Decatur rather than
driving 45 minutes on a daily basis to another university. This unique
experience has opened the door to many possibilities and allowed me to
fulfill my dream of teaching. Now, I teach in a rural school and love what
I am doing.

PACE allowed me the opportunity to continue working full-time, raise three children, and get my degree. The PACE and Education Department Staff were supportive and informative in offering me insight to what I needed to do to complete my education, and helped fill the classes I needed. The professors I had were knowledgeable and had a love for learning that they were very willing to share. Although the workload was taxing at times, the teachers were supportive, understanding, and willing to listen to the students in order to improve the PACE program for future student's needs. I developed life long friends and colleagues in my cohort, that I will cherish forever. Thank you very much for allowing me to improve my life, the lives of my children, and many children to come.
