At Your Service

Welcome to our newsletter! I am Ronda Mitchell, and I joined the PACE office in June as Coordinator of Student Services. I am thrilled to be a part of the Millikin PACE community and will provide support and information to you, ensuring that you are satisfied with the program. One of my goals is to keep you informed of services, along with organizing activities, recognizing student success with noteworthy awards and honors, and providing workshops with services to meet your needs. In addition, I advise new elementary and early childhood students as they enter the program.

Here is some useful information as you begin the semester:
The Writing Center is a resource that is available to serve you in your writing projects. It is staffed by tutors who have a lot of experience. The Writing Center frequently has workshops that cover topics such as avoiding plagiarism, citing, grammar problems, and many more. If you need to see a tutor you may stop by; however, it is best to make an appointment by calling 424-6353, or emailing them at wcenter@millikin.edu. The Writing Center is located in Staley Library, Room 203 and is open Monday through Thursday from 1:00 - 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. You can also access their Online Writing Center, found on the library homepage under Resources.

Did you know that you are allotted 1,000 pages of paper per year, renewed each August 1st? When you select the print option and use a general access printer in a lab, a pop-up will notify you of the number of pages in the print job. Additional pages over 1,000 per academic year will be available for purchase through MuOnline and charged to your account. You may check your page balance at any time on-campus at http://www.millikin.edu/it and clicking on the iPrint @ Millikin icon. If you encounter problems when printing you should contact the IT office, Shilling 114, for a refund of the pages that should have printed. If you leave a computer logged in with your username and password and someone uses the login for printing, there will be no refund of pages to your account. Be diligent about logging out of computers in general access areas so that none of your accounts are compromised.

Again, I am happy to be a part of the Millikin PACE community, and proud of all that PACE offers students. Any comments or concerns that you may have about PACE, I encourage you to phone me at 424-3550 or send me an email at rmitchell@millikin.edu. If we haven’t already met, I look forward to meeting you soon!
