New Leadership for PACE
Angela Ambers-Henderson has accepted the position of Interim Director of PACE. Angela’s name was brought forward as the staff’'s choice to oversee the PACE program while a national search takes place for a new director. Angela currently serves as the PACE Faculty Coordinator for the Criminal Justice program. She will continue to serve as a faculty coordinator in addition to her new role.
Angela sees this position as an opportunity to continue the PACE team’s work on operational and curricular projects already underway. According to Angela, “Every member of the team is willing to do a little extra to make sure all aspects of the PACE program continue to run efficiently. My job is to be the point person for the students, community, and university.”A search for a new director is expected to begin after the first of the year, and a new director named in the spring of 2008.
Angela joined the PACE staff in November 2006. Prior to that, Angela was the Director of Equity and Diversity Initiatives and a member of the President’s Cabinet at Montgomery County Community College. During her time at Montgomery County Community College, Angela also served as the Director of the Criminal Justice and Fire Science Programs. She has practiced law as a trial attorney in Philadelphia, and served as an adjunct professor of Paralegal Studies at Camden County College and in the Criminal Justice Department at Lincoln College, Normal.
