| 1.1 |
The
name of this organization shall be the Millikin
University Parents Association. |
| 1.2 |
The objective of
the Millikin University Parents Association
shall be to serve Millikin University in an
affirmative manner as loyal representatives
in local communities on matters between parents,
students, and the University. These include
communicating between (and in conjunction
with) present and prospective parents and
students and the University such information
and questions which occur in the course of
academic planning, financial support, and
social activities of the University. |

The membership of the Association shall
consist of parents or guardians of present
students of Millikin University and any interested
parents or guardians of past Millikin University
students. |
| Article C |
| 1.1 |
The officers of the Association shall
be: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer.

| 1.2 |
The Executive Committee shall be the officers
of the Association. |
| 1.3 |
The officers of the Association shall be
elected for a term of one year at the Spring
meeting by those members who are present and
voting. Newly elected officers shall assume
office on July 1 of the year they are elected
|
| 1.4 |
The position of President shall be filled
by the outgoing Vice President for a one year
term. |
| 1.5 |
The Executive Committee shall generate a
list of potential officers to present at the
Spring meeting of the Association. Staff members
of the Division of Student Life and Academic
Development may make recommendations to the
Executive Committee as well. Efforts will
be made to maintain a balance of distribution
between the anticipated year of a student's
graduation. Efforts will also be made to have
representation from as many geographic areas
as possible. |

An officer of the Association may not succeed
himself/herself in the same elected office.

| Article D |
| 1.1 |
The
President shall preside at all meetings
of the Executive Committee and the Parents
Association. |
| 1.2 |
The Vice President shall assist the President
and is a member of the Executive Committee
as deemed necessary and presides at all meetings
in the absence of the President. |
| 1.3 |
The Vice President shall assume the duties
of the President in the absence of the President. |
| 1.4 |
At the direction of the President, or successor
in the President's absence, the Secretary
shall record and transcribe the records of
all meetings and handle all correspondence.

| Article E |
| 1.1 |
The Parents Association shall meet at least
twice each year and/or at times determined
by the Executive Committee. The Fall meeting
of the Parents Association is typically held
during the Fall Family Weekend. |
| 1.2 |
The Executive Committee shall convene at
the request of the President as well as at
all meetings of the Parents Association. |
| Article F |
| 1.1 |
Amendments to these by-laws shall be considered
when the suggested amendment is submitted
in written form to the Executive Committee.

Amendments must be approved by a majority
ballot of those present and voting at any
meeting of the Parents Association. |
