What made you decide to come to Millikin?
None of the other colleges I applied to offered me the opportunities I have found in the Honors Program here. I love the Education program and the campus too!
What have you most enjoyed about your major/minor?
I love the opportunities for travel that the Education Department offers. The summer after my freshman year I spent three weeks in China with two of my professors, teaching English to high school students. That is something I would not have been able to do at most colleges.
What experiences in your major have prepared you for your professional life after Millikin?
My first semester here, I was in a clasroom, observing the teacher, and before my sophomore year was over, I had already taught in a sixth grade classroom. This has been great in letting me know this is really what I want to do.
Describe what a Millikin Education means to you?
To me, a Millikin Education means small classes where your professors really get to know you and you get to know them. The students are great too, and we learn how to work together now, something we will carry through our careers.
