| CLOSED SECTION |
You are attempting to enroll in a course which has already reached its size limit. |
* Check to see if the class is cross-listed with another course by using MUOnline Course Listings and double-clicking on the CRN of the class you are interested in taking. Additional information, including course pre-requisites will appear here. If it shows a crosslisted class, if that section is still open, go to the Registrar's Office to be added to the section you are requesting.
OR
* Take add/drop slip & ask instructor if s/he will sign you into the class and return signed slip to the Registrar's Office |
| WANT TO BE ON A WAITLIST FOR A CLOSED CLASS? |
|
* Use the registration worksheet. Enter the CRN for the class in which you want to be waitlisted. Click on "REGISTER." The drop down box will let you select the option to be waitlisted. |
| DUPL_CRSE WITH SECT |
You are attempting to enroll in two classes with the same subject and same course number. In some cases that may be required (ED120 & MS120 lecture & lab), but most of the time it indicates that you're trying to enroll in two different sections of the same course. |
* If you are trying to sign up for a lecture and lab combination such as MS120-01/MS120-0A, then go to the worksheet. Enter the CRNs for both the lecture and lab sections. Click on "REGISTER."
OR
* Select the one section of a particular course that you want to keep on your schedule, if you were trying to enroll in 2 different sections of the same course
OR
* Use the worksheet to try out different combinations of classes with each other and click "REGISTER" once you've made final decisions. |
| LINK * * REQUIRED |
You are attempting to enroll in one section of a "linked" course. There is another section that you must take as well (ex: MS120-01 is lecture and MS120-0B is a "linked" lab). |
* Consult the pre-requisites/comments for the class to see what else you need to add to your schedule by double-clicking on the CRN at the MUOnline Course Listings screen.
* Go to the worksheet and enter the CRNS for both the lecture and the lab sections. Click on "REGISTER." It should then allow you to sign up for both classes (even though they have the same SUBJ (MS) and COURSE NUMBER (120) ). |
| TIME CONFLICT ERRORS |
You are attempting to register for one or more classes with listed meeting times that are the same as those of another course on your schedule
OR
The end time of one course matches exactly with the start-time of another class on your schedule.
|
* Replace one of the courses on your schedule with one that does not meet at the same time/day as another one of your classes.
OR
* Come to the Registrar's Office in Gorin Hall (16) if the end time of one matches the start-time of another. We can override that conflict for you. (or check with the Registrar's Office representative who will be available in the computer labs at posted times to assist with online registration) |
| VARIABLE CREDIT COURSES |
You are attempting to register for a course that may be taken for a different number of credit hours depending upon the workload undertaken. Be sure your advisor has indicated the credit hours appropriate for you to take (ex: ML - applied music lessons for one or two credits, internships, etc.) on your registration form. |
* Go ahead and register for the class under the "default" number of credit hours (the preset number in the computer).
* Finish adding your courses to your schedule.
* Hit the EXIT option at the top of your screen.
* When you are back to the menu screen (same one you used to select Online Registration) you will see an option called CHANGE CLASS OPTION. Click on it.
* This will display all your courses and the credit hours listed. The variable credit courses will have a box for you to enter the appropriate number of credit hours if the default number of credits is not what you wish to take. |
