Podcasting Session Re-Scheduled for November 18
Session Information: Wednesday, November 18 from 12:00-12:50pm in Staley Library MAC Lab

Description: With over 200 million iPods and MP3 players sold since 2001, podcasts present themselves as a convenient, informative, and entertaining medium for delivering content. Podcasts are also a useful tool for extending content beyond traditional classroom walls. But what exactly is a podcast? How do you go about creating one? Come to a session and find out easy solutions, whether you're a PC or a Mac person!

E-mail Joe Hardenbrook if interested in attending a session.

Clickers 101: Using a Student Response System in Your Classes
Want to break up that lecture? Looking for an opportunity to gain more interaction in your teaching? Try using "clickers"--also commonly referred to as a student response system. With clickers, you pose a question and students respond by choosing their answer choice on the clicker. You get instant results. From there, you can guide your discussion to the next topic, or provide further emphasis based on the feedback you receive.

Clickers are useful for:
- Gauging prior knowledge
- Content review
- Impromptu quizzing
- Serving as a lead-in to class discussion

Want to know more?
Attend a training session:
- Wednesday, October 14 from 3:00-3:30pm in Scovill 010
- Thursday, October 15 from 12:30-1:00pm in Scovill 010

If interested in attending, contact Joe Hardenbrook.

Staley Library has 60 clickers from Turning Technologies available for checkout to faculty and staff. The system works within Microsoft PowerPoint, or you can download a non-PowerPoint version to use on computers. Contact Joe Hardenbrook to reserve them for a class or to provide training.
