Katherine Burke
Senior Art Major

I am a senior art major with emphases in painting and fabric sculpture and an English Literature minor. I grew up in St. Louis, MO and attended private Catholic schools all of my life. I have traveled to Italy and England which have had tremendous impacts on my life. My work is based around feminine traditions and redefining what it is to be a woman through my mediums. I am interested in empowering women through my art. After college, I am interested in continuing to work with fabric in the textile/fashion industry.

Monica Zachar
Art Therapy & Art Education Major

I am an Art Therapy and Art Education major from Chicago. I chose to come to Millikin because it is one of the only schools that offer Art Therapy as an undergraduate degree. I will be attending graduate school and would love to work with at-risk youth or developmentally disabled when I become an art therapist. Art is my own therapy. My concentration areas are painting and ceramics in which I explore forms inspired by tree textures. Within my paintings I am trying to explore a relationship between space and form so that they push, pull, and reflect each other.
