Do We Own It?
How do I know if an article is available full text online?
-
Choose a database with a red diamond next to the name, this icon indicates that the database will contain some full text articles.
-
In the brief list or item record, check for hyperlinks that say: HTML Full Text, PDF Full Text, Linked Full Text, etc.
-
Click on the " Find It!" button. This will search most of our other databases for electronic full text options for the article. [if there are none, it also provides links to
MILLINET to search for print subscriptions, and an online Interlibrary Loan form!]
-
Or, use the Electronic Periodicals List to locate a Staley Library electronic subscription resource that carries the full text of the desired periodical.
How do I find a paper copy of a periodical in Staley Library?
EBSCO Host databases: Click on the hyperllink Search MILLINET Online for library copy & volume information which will be at the bottom of the item record. This will open a new window to MILLNET, Staley Library's online catalog, search for the journal title using "Start of Magazine/Journal Title." If the title is available, check the "Library Owns" dates on the bottom of the MILLNET screen to verify whether or not we have the dates you need for that title.
FirstSearch databases: Those periodicals Millikin University owns will include an icon and Millikin Univ., highlighted in green, at the end of the citation. Open the full item record by clicking on the title and check "Local Holdings Information" under the "Availability" heading to see what specific dates the library owns for that title.
Wilson Web databases: When viewing an individual record, click on the Library Owns? icon at the top of the record to see if Staley Library owns a particular title. A new window will open to the MILLINET search for the title. Again, check the holdings at the bottom of the record to see if the library owns the dates you need.
