The AIDS Memorial Quilt Website Along with a rotating online gallery of panels from the Quilt, includes information about making a panel as well as current AIDS statistics & and AIDS information links. The site is maintained by the NAMES Project which also maintains the Quilt itself.

Gender and Sexuality This page publishes texts which address gender studies and queer studies, with a particular focus upon discussions of sex, gender, sexual identity and sexuality in cultural practices. By The E Server at Iowa State University.

Queer Resource Directory a large directory on every aspect of lesbian and gay culture. Many many links, organized in a detailed "subject tree" as well as by broad subject categories.

PlanetOut: Gay and Lesbian News Monitors news from homosexual community world-wide. PlanetOut also includes link to PopcornQ, a massive filmography based on titles screened at the San Francisco Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and which is the primary site for queer film.

National DeafQueer Resource Center Developed and maintained by the former head of San Francisco's Deaf Gay and Lesbian Center.

50 State Rundown on Gay Marriage Laws From Stateline.org (an nonprofit, nonpartisan online news organization that tracks issues daily by individual state governments), this short article lists the newest developments in pending legislation for each state's legislature.

Organizations

National Gay & Lesbian Task Force The self-described "front-line activist organization and national resource center for grass-roots lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender organizations." Includes press releases and select publications.

Human Rights Campaign Largest U.S. lobbying organization with emphasis on comprehensive homosexual rights and AIDS action. Includes links to coming-out resources.

Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund Founded in 1973, this is the largest legal organization working to secure civil rights for gays, lesbians, and person with HIV, via education, public policy work, and litigation. Links to briefs and other legal documents on same-sex marriage and other issues.

Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). The only national gay and lesbian multimedia watchdog organization. Includes information on the creation of October as Lesbian and Gay History Month, the Freedom to Marry Project, and the GLAAD archives.

The Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force "Established in New York in 1993 ... [t]he Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights TaskForce, Inc. is a non-profit volunteer organization which challenges the widespread discriminatory impact of immigration law on gays and lesbians through a national program of education, outreach and advocacy. ... [T]he Task Force has chapters in ten cities in the United States." The site includes information on relevant laws, news briefs, and press releases. Also, "Coming soon [as of 12/02/97]: Immigration Law Handbook for Gay Men and People Living with HIV & AIDS."

San Francisco Public Library's James C. Hormel Gay and Lesbian Center & Collections. Extensive archival collection with focus on national and worldwide lesbian and gay communities. Collection includes papers of Harvey Milk and Randy Shilts.
