Greek Life Five Star Program
Program
Description
Five Star Chapter Program
Millikin University Greek Life
Purpose: To illustrate successful management aptitude, achievements, an overall positive image, and to achieve a reasonable standard of operation among all chapters in the Greek Community at Millikin University.
Description: The Five Star Chapter Program is a collection of standards by which each chapter is expected to meet star standing in five key areas:
- Scholarship
- Philanthropy & Community Service
- Campus Involvement
- Educational & Social Programming
- Public Relations
Chapters must achieve “star standing” in each of the areas, based upon a set of designated standards. The intent of this program is to provide a framework by which chapters can measure and document their programming and management, as well as provide a way by which Greek Organizations at Millikin University will be evaluated.
Implementation
On or before the 15th of March each year, chapters will submit the required documentation in the form of a professionally typed packet or binder. Chapters will be evaluated on a yearly basis and compliance with the program will be announced at the Greek Awards Banquet held at the end of the Spring Semester each year. Greek organizations achieving Five Star Level Chapter Standing will be recognized at Honor's Convocation.
Chapters meeting the standards will be recognized through:
- Correspondence to National Office: Letters of recognition will be sent to the national offices of Five Star chapters.
- Campus Publicity: Five Star chapters may promote their standing in publications and media.
- Awards Ceremony: Five Star chapters will be recognized at the Greek Awards Banquet and Honor's Convocation during the Spring Semester.
Good Luck to all chapters as they complete and submit the Five Star Documentation.
