The Office of Student Programs is proud to present 2007-2008 Leadership Development Series. Series programs cover a wide range of topics and formats. The descriptions of these programs are listed below. Each year a new series of programs will be advertised on this site. 2007-2008 Leadership Series

 

Emerging Greek Leader Retreat

October 12 - October 14, 2007

This program specifically designed for Greek students takes place at Allerton Park each fall. Students are engaged in both general leadership topics and those specific to the Greek community.  Participants are engaged in stimulating topics in a fast paced and highly interactive atmosphere. The retreat features outdoor high ropes courses and other outside activities. When not engaged in programs student enjoy marshmallows by the campfire.

"Kristin's Story"

Sponsored by Panhellenic Council

November 7th, 2007

Kristin's Story is a mother’s tale of her daughter’s rape and subsequent suicide. A vibrant 20-year-old Alpha Chi Omega, Kristin, committed suicide shortly after she was raped by a friend in 1995. Her Tri Delta mother Andrea Cooper made the difficult decision to share her daughter’s tragedy with college students all over the nation. This program is open to all students and a chance to dialogue on the important issues of mental health and personal safety.

 

Diversity Summit

Co-Sponsored with the Center for Multicultural Student Affairs

February 9th, 2008 (beginning at 10am) - Lower Richards Treat University Center

This program is designed for Students of Color but is open to all students, faculty, and staff. The conference features a reception, opening session, two breakout session periods with a choice of two topic areas for each time slot, and a closing performance.

Leadership 101 Events

Leadership 101 events are designed for all students leaders. These programs focus on various wellness and leadership topics applicable to college students.
