Provisions of New Student Organizations

The first year of a student organization will be consider a provisional year. During this year the following items are in place to support new student organizations in creating a strong foundation.

1. Have a clearly defined purpose that does not duplicate the purpose of an existing organization

2. Have a faculty/administrative advisor (An advisor may only be an advisor to 3 or less student organizations)

3. Have initial membership of five (5) or more full time active students which include at least two officers
If membership drops below five, the student organization will have a grace period of one academic semester in which to increase their membership numbers

4. 
Officers must have a grade point average of at least a 2.0/4.0 cumulative and/or semester

 Must have a scheduled meeting with the Office of Student Programs at the three month, 6 month, and 12 month mark of being active provisional student organization

6. A Provisional Student Organization is eligible for Emergency Allocations during the first semester and will be eligible for Student Organization Allocations the following semester

7. A Provisional Student Organization is eligible for all privileges of a Registered Student Organization excluding office space or storage through the Office of Student Programs
