UNIT ASSESSMENT SYSTEM FOR THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Nan Gaylen (Education)

Start Date: December 2006
This project provides funds for implementing two different parts of the School of Education's Unit Assessment System: The Livetext Exhibit Center and The Community Advisory Committee. The school's accrediting agency has recommended that these two areas be strengthened before the re-accreditation process formally begins.

The Livetext Exhibit Center is used to collect and archive the formal assessments of education candidates. In database form, the Exhibit Center includes assessment rubrics that enable faculty to grade candidate assessments and track progress toward meeting state requirements.

The Community Advisory Committee provides feedback from external constituents such as P-12 teachers and administrators, candidates who have completed all requirements for certification, alumni, and alumni employers. The committee's feedback is used to measure program and unit effectiveness.
