AUTOMATION OF ADMISSION TO STUDENT TEACHING PROCESSING
Nan Gaylen (Education) and Jason Wickline (Information Technology)

Start Date: March 2006
T
he School of Education is currently pursuing an initiative to centralize all student information needed to verify progress toward meeting graduation and state certification requirements. All of this data will eventually be housed in a database with extensive report-generating capabilities. This project will focus specifically on enhancing the School's ability to review applicants for student teaching, automating the information-sorting process and reducing the time needed to process student teaching applications from 30 minutes x the number of applicants to approximately five minutes for the entire applicant pool. Students will benefit by being able to track their own progress in meeting the application requirements as they advance through their academic careers.
