OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT FOR THE CLINICAL NURSE LEADER PROGRAM
Nancy Semenza (Nursing)
Start Date: May 2007
Following the School of Nursing's launch of a master's program in 2006, this project was funded to help faculty develop an outcome assessment process for the Clinical Nurse Leader MSN program. The project will:
1. provide faculty development and assessment tools for evaluating the CNL program, including a visit to another educational institution that has already successfully graduated CNL students.
2. fund testing systems for the national certification exam.
3. provide educational sessions for clinical preceptors in area hospitals where CNL students are completing their residencies.
These activities will provide the foundational assessment protocols for this newly launched degree program. Outcomes will be preserved in the department's student handbook and summative reports, and will be disseminated through the departmental website as well as repeatable educational programs as appropriate.
