PEDAGOGICAL APPROACHES TO SENIOR CAPSTONE EXPERIENCES

This project presents an overview of the four current pedagogical approaches in use in senior Capstone courses in each major:
- apprenticeship learning culminating in a senior performance
- portfolio building
- problem-solving projects
- seminars with academic research
The study outlines the common features of each approach and notes any related concerns and issues, especially those impacting student opportunities for reflection, curricular costs, and learning outcomes.
