An Exploration of the Relationships Between the Math Placement Policy and Student Performance In Introductory Math Courses

All incoming Millikin students are required to take the ACT mathematics compass placement exam to determine if they need remedial instruction. This project's goals were to a) determine if the current mathematics placement guidelines increase student retention and improve their performance in quantitative reasoning courses, and b) identify ways to improve the placement process to further enhance student success. The project's methodology and conclusions are outlined in the final report (linked below).
